Donor advised funds
Recommend a grantfrom your fund.
If you give through Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or a community foundation, you can direct a grant to Operation Meraki whenever you choose. We serve veterans and their families from anywhere in the country, and we deliver our programs in Ohio — so a grant made here goes to work close to home.
How it works
Three steps, no paperwork.
Your fund handles the tax side. You decide where the money goes.
Recommend a grant
In your fund’s portal — Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or your community foundation — choose Operation Meraki as the recipient and enter the amount.
Tell us it’s coming
A short note to our development team so we watch for it and can put it to work the week it lands, rather than after the accounting clears.
We acknowledge it
You receive a gift acknowledgment for your records, and later a plain answer about what the grant actually funded.
Good to know
Before yourecommend.
Every veteran and family member who calls is served, in any state. Our programs are built and run in Ohio — Central Ohio first, then the rest of the state — and a grant here funds that delivery.
Donor-advised funds move quickly when the details are right. These are the details.
What your fund needs
Our legal name, EIN, and mailing address. Ask the development team and we will send the exact wording so the grant is credited on the first attempt.
How long it takes
Most funds release grants in one to two weeks. If you tell us it is coming, we will watch for it and can start planning around it.
Designate a program
ReSet, ReEngage, ReFocus, RePlant, or where it is needed most. Add the designation in the grant memo and we will honor it.
Recurring support
Funds pay out one grant at a time, so many donors recommend once a year. A calendar reminder does more than an autopay ever could.
Anonymous is fine
Recommend anonymously if you prefer. We will still report publicly on what the grant funded — just without your name attached.
Veterans never see a bill
Every grant goes into delivery: peer sessions, cohorts, materials, and facilitation. No veteran is charged for any of it.
